The Board Program's extensive agenda progresses alongside your board journey.

This is not just a 2-day event. Our program begins with an in-person kickoff and continues throughout the year with virtual components to ensure the best education, support, and networking opportunities are available to you during your board search.

 

Attend a two-day in-person kickoff to lay the foundation for your board search.

DAY 1: DETERMINING YOUR VALUE PROPOSITION

Participate in a detailed workshop focused on discovering your value proposition for board service, honing your message, and developing a strategic plan for locating a board opportunity.

You will end the day with an understanding of the unique worth you can bring to boards as a health care executive, and how to convey it to those in a position to recommend you for a board seat.

DAY 2: UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS AND SETTING GOALS

Our second day of programming will get into the details of board types, networking avenues, and the search, diligence, and interview processes. Topics covered will include:

  • How to use advisory and investor-owned company boards to advance your governance goals

  • The experience private equity boards look for in candidates and how to make yourself known

  • Locating and securing public board opportunities

  • Tips on acing the board interview process and using diligence to make the right choices

  • Making an impact at your first board meeting

Receive mentorship and continued support through small group cohort meetings. 

You will be matched with a cohort that will grow and learn together over the course of the program. Led by a faculty member to offer guidance and advice, each cohort will meet three times throughout the year.

Cohort groups are a way to get ideas and feedback in a more intimate, long-term setting. The groups ensure that you stay accountable and that your investment in the program doesn’t end when you leave the in-person kickoff!
