HOW WILL I ACCESS THE WBL BOARD PROGRAM?

Board Program training modules will be available on the Teachable platform. Once registered, you will receive login credentials for Teachable. Office hours/cohort placement and cohort sessions will take place virtually over Zoom. Lastly, registrants may access program resources, including an attendee directory, forum, and board preparation templates, through the Board Program Hub in the WBL member portal.

HOW LONG WILL THE PROGRAM TAKE TO COMPLETE?

This program is unique in that it is flexible and designed to work with your schedule. The four virtual modules can be completed at your own pace, and are structured to be completed in three months, devoting time to complete 1-2 lessons each week, though you will have access to the program for one full year.

We recommend completing at least one module before your first cohort meeting.  There is no requirement to complete all modules before your cohort meeting, but you will gain the most value from your cohort the more you are able to complete.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FACULTY ADVISOR AND COHORT?

Your faculty advisor will be a board director and WBL member who provides guidance and accountability during three virtual cohort check-in sessions throughout the year.  Your cohort (a small group of program participants led by a faculty advisor) will offer peer support, networking opportunities, and a sounding board that lasts long after the program ends.

The next office hours/cohort placement meeting is on October 27 from 2-3:30pm ET. After the initial meeting, your cohort will meet two additional times, to be scheduled in collaboration with your cohort.  Additional cohort meetings are scheduled for March 2027 and June 2026, and will continue to be scheduled on a rolling basis.

*If you can not attend this meeting, email events@wbl.org for additional options. Note the first 30 minutes of this session are optional office hours with WBL staff and multiple faculty advisors.

HOW WILL I BE MATCHED WITH MY FACULTY ADVISOR AND COHORT?

You will be assigned a small-group cohort in October, March, or June, based on your registration date. This assignment will take place during a virtual office hours/cohort placement session. Faculty mentor and cohort matches are made based on your professional experience and board goals that you share with us via a Board Candidate Profile form to ensure a valuable and tailored experience.
