How Women Leaders Can—and Must—Find Their Edge
Four Seasons Ballroom

Women leaders are taught from a young age that hard work is the key to success—don’t give up, keep at it, stay motivated, tenacious, determined and that’s how you’ll succeed. However, that’s not what women leaders actually experience. Harvard Business Professor Laura Huang’s research—inspired by her tenure in investment banking—shows that success in the venture capital world often comes down to investors’ gut feelings, and therefore, unfortunately, their preconceived conceptions and stereotypes.

But what if women leaders could flip those stereotypes in their favor and create an advantage or edge? In this enlightening, empowering talk, Laura explains how women, particularly women of color, can guide and redirect those very stereotypes which hold them back, and sharpen them into a unique and sustainable edge.

Narrowing the Gap: Raising Capital for Other Women
Four Seasons Ballroom

In 2022, startups founded solely by women received only 2% of venture capital funding. Exciting new opportunities are growing to fund women founders, but there is still an incredible gap where women executives are not participating in the funding ecosystem. In this session, we will learn about investing trends, challenges facing women founders, and how focused fundraising initiatives can help turn the tide. By learning more about these new funds, attendees will leave with an understanding of what we as individuals can and must do to get involved in the ecosystem, help change the narrative, and make an impact on the next generation of women entrepreneurs in healthcare.
