Mary Flipse currently serves as Co-Founder and President of PreferCare, a healthcare startup partnering with independent primary care practices in America’s smaller cities and rural areas to support their efforts in successful value-based care.
Mary’s career spans almost 30 years, with most of it in healthcare. Mary spent almost ten years as the Chief Legal & Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary at publicly traded Tivity Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: TVTY) (formerly Healthways, Inc., a care coordination and well-being pioneer in population health), whose signature product is market-leading SilverSneakers®, a senior engagement solution for beneficiaries of Medicare Advantage plans. Mary was the company’s third and longest-serving general counsel and rebuilt the legal, compliance, and privacy functions.
Mary also spent time in life sciences as a Vice President & Assistant General Counsel with King Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a publicly traded specialty branded pharma company that specialized in opioids and autoinjectors, notably the EpiPen® (King was acquired by Pfizer in 2011). There, Mary supported M&A, generic-branded settlements under Hatch-Waxman, the largest collaborative partnerships, and the EpiPen® and nerve agent antidote manufacturing and domestic and international distribution arrangements.
Mary earned a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and international relations from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
