Tia Newcomer is a CEO and board director who guides healthcare organizations through strategic inflection points, the moments when growth, innovation, and operating discipline have to come together at once. Over 25 years, she has led across Fortune 100 companies, private equity and venture-backed businesses, and mission-driven organizations in women's health, behavioral health, digital health, healthcare services, and life sciences.

As a member of the WBL Board Program faculty, Tia brings a view from every seat at the table: CEO reporting to a board, ex officio director, independent director, and advisor. She knows what boards need from management, what management needs from boards, and how the strongest partnerships turn governance into a growth asset.

Most recently, Tia served as CEO of CaringBridge, where she modernized a 27-year-old platform, delivered record revenue growth, and expanded support for millions of caregivers, most of them women. She partnered closely with the board on governance evolution and long-term strategic repositioning. Before CaringBridge, she was Chief Commercial Officer at Generate Life Sciences and helped guide two successful exits, including a 15x EBITDA outcome. Her foundation at HP and Frito-Lay gave her the playbook: go-to-market clarity, human-centered design, and disciplined execution.

Tia is an independent director at Inherent Biosciences, a team pioneering epigenetic diagnostics in reproductive health. She serves on the Steering Committee and co-chairs a Priority Team for the American Cancer Society's National Breast Cancer Roundtable, and sits on the Dean's Advisory Board at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Across every role, her conviction holds: mission matters, and it has to translate into measurable impact and real value creation.

Tia is a proud Husker with a Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communications, executive education from INSEAD, and a graduate of Seth Godin's altMBA. Outside of work, you'll find her outdoors, on foot, bike, skis, or water, with her husband, two daughters, and loyal white lab.
