Cheryl Rucker-Whitaker is an accomplished physician executive and transformational entrepreneur practiced in managing in highly matrixed and complex environments in academia, industry, government, and non-profit sector to grow companies at the intersection of growth for impact. Dr. Rucker-Whitaker is practiced in population health management, care management and coordination. She is currently President of Illinois Region of CINQCARE, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Black and Brown people, and those who need CINQ the most.
She has spent the last 2 decades understanding health disparities and shaping solutions to close the disparities gap. She was a co-Founder of NextLevel Health Partners, Inc. the only African American owned Medicaid Managed Care company in the country. As Chair of the Board and CEO of the company, Dr. Rucker-Whitaker managed a Board of Directors, ran a high performing management teams to meet KPIs, tailored and deployed a technology and care management platform. Dr. Rucker-Whitaker oversaw four rounds of funding and a debt round raising $39Mgrew the company to $300m in revenue and over 130 employees on exit to a Fortune 50 company in 2020. Dr. Rucker-Whitaker founded a care management company to provide delegate care management services to fortune 100 payors. She was elected by her peers to be President and Chair of the Institute of Medicine Chicago Board of Governors, and Chair of the Illinois Medicaid Advisory Committee. She serves on the board of the Hyde Park Jazz Festival and the XS Tennis Foundation in Chicago, the Deans Advisory Council of Emory College of Emory University.
She is married with 2 children and 2 dogs, Jazz and Blues.
