Born in Hong Kong, Chris Chu moved to the United States at the age of 16. As a technologist and entrepreneur, Chris co-founded a company named Electronic Vaulting Services (EVS), a technology company offering online data backup services. In 2007, EVS was named a Top 100 Fastest Growing Startup, and Chris received the prestigious “Top40Under40” award from Memphis Business Journal.
Chris has over 15 years of technology sales and leadership experience. In her current role as Head of Sales for US Healthcare and Life Sciences - Medical Devices at Amazon Web Services, Chris harnesses her entrepreneurial spirit and industry expertise to drive growth, forge strategic partnerships, and deliver innovative solutions to healthcare organizations around the globe.
Chris is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and is active in the DEI community. She co-leads the DEI initiative across AWS, co-founded the AWS DEI Community Mentorship Program, and is the HCLS Community of Interest leader. Chris was recently honored as a Leader in Diversity by Nashville Business Journal in 2023. Outside of work, Chris enjoys getting involved in mentorship opportunities and spending time with her 2-year-old son.
