Mary Rotunno is a mission-driven health care C-suite executive, public corporate board director, and committee member with the strategic vision to critically think through complex challenges, see around corners, and mitigate risk. As a clinician and leader, she brings insight, gained through empathy and listening, and industry expertise from patient and health system perspectives to public/private company boards in pharma, health IT, biotech, population health management and value-based care, fitness/wellness models, and products.

Mary sits on a number of boards, including VistaGen Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: VTGN), where she serves on the Audit Committee and chairs the Nom/Gov Committee; SaNOtize Research and Development, where she chairs the Compensation Committee; and Momentum for Health, where she served as board chair for two and a half years. She is also an advisory board member for the Business/Leadership Ethics Advisory Council at Markkula Center at Santa Clara University.

Mary’s 30+ year commitment to servant leadership began as a registered nurse and transitioned to health care law. She currently serves on the Executive Leadership Team and as General Counsel for El Camino Health, a $1.2B revenue health care system, named one of the World’s Best Hospitals in 2022 by Newsweek. Providing strategic governance, she advises on enterprise risk, health system strategy, restructuring, and strategic partnerships, while diplomatically challenging thinking, building consensus, and anticipating risk to advance corporate strategy.

Mary’s deep commitment to the underserved led her to establish the Medical Legal Clinic, forging partnerships for funding legal/social services to low-income patients. She promotes education and philanthropic support for women’s programs, services, and grants at St. Mary's Medical Center.
